Festival Overview

Counted among Japan’s three great float festivals, along with Kyoto’s Gion Festival and Hida’s Takayama Festival, the Chichibu Night Festival is held every year on 2 and 3 December. It was inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2016.

Ticketless service「Smooz」(English)

※All seats on the Laview Limited Express are reserved.
In addition to a regular ticket, a Limited Express ticket is required.
Please purchase your Limited Express ticket in advance before boarding.
If you board without a Limited Express ticket, an additional fee of 200 JPY per ticket will be charged on top of the regular Limited Express fare.

※Passengers using special tickets such as SEIBU 1Day Pass are also required to purchase a Limited Express ticket separately.
※IC card (Suica, Pasmo, etc.) and SEIBU 1Day Pass can also be used as your regular ticket.

Local trains

Extra local trains will be in service on 3rd December.
※Please be aware that a transfer at Hanno Station may be required depending on the train.

Notes

・If your IC card (PASMO, Suica, etc.) has insufficient balance.
Please top up before passing through the ticket gate.
You can add cash at ticket machines, fare adjustment machines, dedicated recharge(add value)machines or ticket offices at each station and continue to use it repeatedly.

・Mobile reception in the station
Please note that mobile reception may be unstable in and around station on the day of the Chichibu Night Festival.
If you are unable to present your online Limited Express ticket via “Smooz” or e-ticket, you may not be able to enter or exit the station. Please cooperate by showing your ticket away from crowded areas before entering or exiting.

・You may need cash for topping up your IC card , purchasing single tickets, or buying food and goods at festival stalls. We recommend that you prepare and bring cash in advance.
