Kiyose Sunflower Festival
The Kiyose Sunflower Festival is held in the city of Kiyose, Tokyo during a limited period every summer. It offers a chance to view about 100,000 sunflowers on vast fields about 24,000 square meters in area.
Access: From Kiyose Station (SI15), get on the Seibu Bus headed for Shiki Station South Exit. Get off at Green Town Kiyoto Stop and walk for 6 minutes.
Ajisai Park
This park is home to about 1500 beautifully blooming hydrangeas during the hydrangea season in June.
Access: A 5-minute walk from Kodaira Station (SS19)
Kitayama Park
A park full of the blessings of nature and with the Sayama Hills as its backdrop, Kitayama Park was chosen to the new list of 100 beautiful sights in Tokyo. Surrounded by abundant water and vegetation, it is home to about 600 varieties of Japanese iris that bloom in about 100,000 flowers on 800 stalks in early summer. Its other seasonal flowers include spider lilies, which bloom in autumn.
Access: A 20-minute walk from Higashi-Murayama Station(SS21/SK05)
Kinchakuda Kinchakuda Manjushage Park
Kinchakuda, a 22-hectare park 500 meters in diameter enclosed by a river, is covered in beautiful seasonal flowers such as rape blossoms and cosmos. Among these are the spider lilies that cover the ground in a crimson color in autumn, like a red carpet.
Access: A 15-minute walk from Koma Station (SI28).
Mitsui Outlet Park Iruma
Mitsui Outlet Park Iruma in the city of Iruma, Saitama Prefecture is an outlet mall with a wide range of about 200 shops and restaurants of famed domestic and international brands.
Access: From Irumashi Station (SI23), get on the bus bound for Mitsui Outlet Park and get off at the last stop.
