This indoor ski resort is adjacent to MetLife Dome, located not too far from the center of the city. The 320-meter long, 30-meter wide slope is kept in best condition with high quality snow from snowmaking machines. This ski resort also features nighttime lighting so you can enjoy all-night skiing on Friday and Saturday nights. (Be sure to check the dates when the facility is open.) Rental equipment is available for convenience when you make last-minute skiing plans, such as when you are on your way home from work. Snowboarders are also welcome.

Chichibu Railway Steam Locomotive, The Paleo Express

Chichibu Railway has operated this steam locomotive between Kumagaya Station and Mitsumineguchi Station since March 1988. It is well-known as the steam locomotive that is located closest to Tokyo. The Paleo Express runs mainly on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

This air show is held on Iruma Air Base on November 3, which is said to be a clear, sunny day every year. A variety of events are held, including an aircraft exhibit and a "Miss Air Show" competition, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The flying exhibition by "Blue Impulse" from the Air Self-Defense Force is a particularly popular event.

The Sayama City Iruma River Tanabata Festival, one of the Kanto region's three major Tanabata festivals, is held in August every year. The roadside is covered with numerous Tanabata decorations that contain each person's wish. A summer evening fireworks display of approximately 1,500 individual fireworks (in 2015) is held at night.

The Koedo Kawagoe fireworks display is held in August every year. Approximately 6,000 individual fireworks (in 2015) are shot into the nighttime sky.
Unique fireworks, such as underwater star mines and music fireworks, make the summertime evening colorful in Koedo Kawagoe. "Message fireworks" are very popular for sending up celebratory messages for marriages, births, and special 60th Kanreki birthdays.

The roof of the dome is supported with V-shaped pillars, to allow the natural breeze inside.
