The "God of Marriage"
Also known as "O-Hikawa-sama", this shrine is well-known and loved as the guardian of Kawagoe. Because the gods enshrined here are two couples that were both very good matches, people have come here to pray for happy marriages or to find a spouse since long ago. The Ryoen Kigan (good match) Festival is held at 8:08 on the 8th day of each month as well as the 4th Saturday. (The Chinese character for 8 represents increasing success, so people pray to find a good match at the lucky time of 8:08.)
